It's tough for Australia to set fresh records.

The top summits have long been mastered.

We're talking about the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and once went nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are what's still available for a side that has achieved everything.

That it took as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their batsmen to possess a record if not afforded the opportunity.

"A chance to go out there and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

When she was out the team required another 66 at one run per ball - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the confidence to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if necessary, we are confident we can succeed."

That comment will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this World Cup need to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this triumph coming after win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was at that stage they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the initial instance at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she wished she had played despite the injury.

Yet even as she later admitted those fitness problems have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is expected to be her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as leader.
